Present a character and describe its personality without explicitly mentioning traits about it ie: ''Character is X, Character likes/hates Y, Character's personality is Z'' in less than 500 words.

>I started a crowdfunding campaign for my writing career(I'm not going to link it, it's not actually to generate money), the following is my biography on the page:

My name is Alex, I am in my twenties(not saying age because I don't want to), I am an unskilled worker, but sometimes skilled at other things and I do my work well and I like my life a lot(which is unusual for a writer/philosopher) I have many best friends who are all number one and I will dedicate this book to them.(In spirit, it's actually dedicated to the people who buy the prizes)

It is my lifelong dream of being a writer, I am good writing so I want to make good literature to perspire a gneration, and my work often includes complex themes like love and hate and war and death and metaphysical existence beyond the realm of human consciousness.

I will put money to good use and buy writing supply and then I will write the great america novel(despite being English - plot twist).

Sadly I was born into poor family and have no writer materials other than this notebook, which cantain no notes because I lack a pen, and I want all of the pens. I usually handwrite things as my handwriting is easy to read like a smart and capable student of medisin.

I also work full time so I have little time to write so I try my best and will hope to get result for you quick, I have wrote 25 THOUSAND word in last month through I can make time and space for the write. I believe that if I had pens I could triple my output to SEVERNTYFIVE thousand a month, and that's basically a novel idea.

I have writen many poetry and they are a passon of mine because I like to rhyme things with other things, which as we all know is the basic of poetic, like words like emphatic and newmatic. Also complecks rhyming schemes like iambic tentametre. I like the worlds of Eddie Allan Poe and t.s. eliott.

Are allusions to the garden of eden a cliche? Or is it more about how you do it?
I mean both in literature and cinema.

I'm 20 years old and I'm still struggling to understand who I really am. What I do know, however, is that I thoroughly enjoy writing. Whether it be my thought, emotions, etc. it's something I enjoy doing, and something that helps me feel at peace. Is it possible for me to find myself through writing, or is there more to it than that?
I wasn't sure if this was more of a /lit/ or /adv/ question.

/lit/, how do I improve my dialogues? I dont just mean the structure but also the content.
How do I decide what to include as dialogue and how do I get better at getting into a character's heads to find interesting things for it to say?

Any books? Anything more then "10 best tips for writing good dialogue" ?
Any specific exercises? Any lists of types of things characters express through dialogue with examples?
I need help /lit/.

My difficulty comes also from the need to write dialogue for characters without including any every day problems for them(its a conscious decision for all sorts of reasons) .
My two characters are lamenting their past connection in an indirect way, through memories and impressions.
Some of the locations are simple ones. The beach, the forest but I need, through dialogues to both make them interesting, appealing and feel human despite not really mentioning any "every day hardships".
It's a short story about a couple sitting in their own shit.

Hey /lit/

Do you guys have any tips on how to stop using the word "and" too often in my writing, without over punctuating things as a result?

I'm noticing that I use it too often, about 20 times in a 490 word piece.

So /lit/ what other creative things do you do besides writing and does it help your writing? Do you make music, paint, act or do something nerdy as game mastering for pen and paper groups?

Write a short story based on a prompt which is posted.
It can be as awful as you want it to be, the only wrong answer is to not write.
