No. Its purpose is to serve as a vector for God's word so you can learn to honor him in all things.

This is terrible advice.

Was Saint Paul more instrumental than Saint Peter in laying a foundation for a universal Christianity? From what I gather, Saint Peter at first rejected the idea of baptising non-Jews.

Because we need to convert as many people as possible. Decent Christians don't actually want anyone in Hell, but there's a real danger of non-Christians ending up there. Thus the Great Commission: "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." It's essentially a rescue mission. Save the wicked from themselves.

As a Catholic, I'll say that I don't think the Church specifically condemns psychedelics. ABUSE of psychedelics, like abuse of all drugs, is condemned by Saint Paul when he tells us to take care of what comes into and goes out of our bodies.

I suppose, from a Catholic perspective, it's not that psychedelics are condemned so much as they are held to be unnecessary. There is 1500 years of Christian mysticism to draw on if one wishes to come closer to Christ. Maybe if there had been psychedelics in easy availability in the Middle East and Europe during the heyday of Christianity, things would have been different, but things now are what they are. Apparitions, healings, and miracles have flowed from Christ without the need of mind-altering substances.
