I warn people not to read that crap in every thread, but you guys never fucking listen. Did you ever look how fucking low it's rated on Goodreads? For a fantasy series for normies? It's insanely bad. Like unless you can identify some reason as to why normies would dislike it (like Bakker getting downvoted for having his only female character be a whore) there's a good chance that the book is just shit, and in Malazan's case it is just shit. It panders to just about everyone under the sun, it's the most R3ddit book imaginable, and yet normies still hated it. It has an obese sorceress, it's full of minorities, gurrl power, and all the shit that's popular now, and yet it's still despised because of just how low the quality is. Anyone that tells you Malazan is good is either a complete fucking brainlet or trolling you.
