Actually, no, they can't.

Just more people horribly misinterpreting actual discoveries.

First time posting on /lit/, so go easy on me.

I'm thinking about writing a book about a friend of mine. He thinks it's a great idea, too. Now I've got a couple of questions about the process.

If he's done illegal shit in the past, and I write about it, can he still get in trouble for it? At first, I thought I'd try to get around this by using a fake name for him, but he's somewhat famous - or, at least, knows several famous people who's names may come up in the book - so that's not an option.

Second question is similar. If I discuss on-the-job situations, and the book gets into the hands of a manager, can he be held accountable? I was under the impression that you couldn't be fired under those circumstances, but I may be mistaken.

Lastly, is there any sort of process I need to go through to formally have him sign over rights to a book to me?

Any help is appreciated.

Is it a guide to sex with children or a guide to how not to be attracted to children?

What books would you recommend to change my perspective?
