I like writing webnovels and recently had an idea for a general story and setting and was wondering what parts of it work and what not. I wrote a ~6k word portion and would like some feedback. Who'd be willing to take a look and add some comments?
I wouldn't know how to post it here, as a pastebin or a link to a PDF on a dropbox? Or is there even a better method where notes/comments can be added?

Hey writers who self-published: how do you market your book? I just finished mine, but I'm trying to find ways to just give out my book for free because I just want people to read it.

Regarding fantasy tetralogies — is there some curse where the reader enjoys the first book, but then hits a wall at the beginning of the second? I'm thinking of T.H. White's "The Once and Future King" and Genre Wolfe's BotNS specifically. All is well and gravy for the first, spirited adventure ... then nothing.

For BotNS, I couldn't figure out what the hell happened after the end of Shadow — where did best waifu go? Are they in a jungle? Why is Sev. all buddy-buddy with Jonas? How much time has passed, and what the fuck happened? I can't even remember why I quit TOaFK, but it was probably because new characters were introduced without any immediate continuity.

Are authors these days genuinely retarded or is it just me? It's like every one of them is pretentious faglets who can't write better than some kid out of elementary school. It doesn't help the masses have shit taste, utter trash like twilight selling? Agatha Christie's Sherlock Holmes tier fanfiction? The masses have shit taste and the authors are nothing but retards pandering to them. When is literature going to enter back into the golden age like with the writers of the ancient Africa?

I suspect you may just be a retard-faggot, OP. If you want to ascribe pretension to London you picked one of the worst books of his you could, something like Martin Eden would be much more applicable.

That being said, The Sea Wolf is a phenomenal book, for its first half anyway. The character of Wolf Larsen is a true accomplishment, quite funny considering he was written as some refutation of Nietzsche's philosophy but was widely understood and adored otherwise. Rather than representing the failure of the ubermensche he romanticized the idea, the struggle even...because London too was a brainlet you see, and didn't actually understand Nietzsche. Still, it is worrisome when one brainlet cannot be understand a fellow. Hang in there, OP.
