I need to improve my english reading abilities.

I would like to do this by reading english books.
Would you reccomend me some?

just to give you and idea, atm i have trouble reading Infinite Jest and understand next to nothing of Ulysees.
I have read The picture of dorian gray and metamorphisis with little trouble.

So something that is harder than oscar wilde but simpler than James Joyce.
