Was Schopenhauer right? I didn't believe it at first but the smartest women I know still lack an understanding of philosophical concepts or water it down and misinterpreting them. Everyone does this to a degree when they first start off but I've noticed it's very rare for a women to get past this phase. Is it just in their nature to look for instant gratification since they have many things handed to them so easily?

If you look at the work through the lens of the preface, it's a lot more bearable. Only Old Hegelians care about Philosophy of Right anyways, and Old Hegelians are the shit Hegelians.

Maybe you aren't putting God into all this. Even if Hegel tries to do things without any theology, he legit believes in God and has read all the big mystics of the Christian tradition. I personally read Hegel before knowing that Marx and progressives were influenced by him, so I just went with him as I would with a mystic. I read him in a way better translatable language though.

I've been grappling with postmodernism for long enough to understand that Petersons position is nothing more than sophistry. He resorts to calling Derrida "head trickster" and ignoring an entire intellectual movement because of pragmatic considerations instead of approaching it with intellectual honesty because he's afraid of fascism. He's manipulating people for what he believes to be the good of society.

This leads down a different rabbit-hole. When you define the value of truth by its usefulness you will soon want to discard those truths which you find to be inconvenient or dangerous.
If Petersons views become the new Zeitgeist we'll be in an age of pragmatic dogmatism, which may not be fascist but certainly tyrannical. This is just the kind of attitude that will allow people to act according to "common sense" while remaining blissfully unaware of the groups and ideas that fall under the table in their system - which will be the ones that they don't consider useful.

I remember seeing a thread the other day that had a focus along the lines of this stated subject. It had a vapourwave style picture of some hands over a computer or something. If someone could perhaps link that then it would be appreciated.
