Half way into Ember book 3, oh no the ghosts will get out and the gins will take over and the scholars will all die blah blah blah. I thought I was going to get real grim dark, I thought I would get a pov from the torturer or rapist. Instead I get a slow slog of a couple people realizing that slavery is bad.

Give me some dark recommendations. Where a skilled author really puts you in the mind of someone evil as he does evil deeds.
