lets say someone important to the protagonist dies (or seemingly dies) and they attempt suicide upon finding out. should the reader know why that someone meant so much to the protagonist BEFORE they died or during/after the protagonist attempts suicide?

from what i learned, expo should come after events to maintain curiosity. maybe i'm wrong

>sitting alone on the train during rush hour
>nice spacious place to sit right next to me
>no one sits down
>train stars filling up, nearly every seat is taken
>people around me are just standing instead of sitting next to me
>see over a dozen qts walk up to the seat eager to sit
>they walk to the other side of the train after they spot me
>start violently shaking and sweating profusely

I have this idea for a sci fi novel that’s been brewing in my head for awhile. I just don’t have a fraction of the writing experience I’ll need to actually write it. Is it worth holding on to this idea until I’m ready? Or will my tastes change and I’ll look back at it and cringe?

I completely disagree.
Eternal life in the form of reincarnating into new human lives eternally is preferable to the standard heaven/hell or oblivion.

Personally that's my ideal, being able to live different lives forever. Heaven is boring and insignificant. Reincarnation solves the insignificance problem, each life has meaning because you aren't aware of the other lives you've lived.

I hope the simulation masters make this a reality for me.
