Well, I'm gonna go ahead and start on the 2nd Edition of my first novel. It's been over 2.5 months since I've laid eyes on it, I hope I don't cringe hard. Should I change the cover or keep it? I think the blurb probably kinda sucks so criticism/suggestions on that is welcome. I realize that outright calling the female protagonist a feminist isn't a particularly chill move, kind of a buzz word, but dealing with modern feminist ideals is kind of a part of this book involving zombie survival. Oh, also, it's a pseudonym, not my actual name obviously. I'm not shilling (this time) either, in fact I'm gonna say that you shouldn't buy it right now. Even if you're interested, it's probably best to wait until the 2nd Edition is finished because I made some words capitalized instead of just using italics, which I've been told makes the book a little unpleasant to read (even though I've also been told it's well written). It's like the reader is being yelled at some points. Not good, but hey, it was my first. Live and learn, and now I'm finally gonna fix my mistakes.

tl;dr
How bad does my cover/blurb suck, and how should I fix it, if it indeed needs fixing? Using Create Space's Cover Creator so, y'know, it's not like I have quality stuff to work with here.

Fuck it, general Amazon Landfill thread. How many books published last month, 90,000-100,000? Who else here has published on Amazon?

Oh, and while I'm at it, the thread closed before I could reply to the dude below, maybe he'll spot this...

Really? Just a Misdemeanor is all it takes to keep you out of Mc-fucking-Donald's? Surely if you just act real nice to them you could get it to work out. I was actually under house arrest when I got a job at a fast food joint several years ago, and was told that I didn't have to tell them about it. Was told this by the psychologist/councilor or whatever, and/or my probation Officer, so it's legit. I took the resume in, and was actually hired on the spot, but then again I had quite a bit of work history both in the fast food industry and otherwise. I'm in Canada, so I dunno, maybe it's different where you are. When you have a 'mister meaner', are you legally obliged to tell people? Maybe it's something you could just keep hush-hush so they can judge you by who you are rather than the mistakes you've made. We've all made mistakes, some bigger than others.

I admittedly do have a tendency to use caps (though I just use Shift) in order to stress words, and in my novel there are indeed words or at times whole sentences capitalized when there's yelling. I also use italics of course when a word is merely stressed rather shouted, yet sometimes I use both if a word is stressed as well as shouted. I admit, I don't know how to use italics on anything but things like Microsoft Word. It might be something like italics, but I never really use it.

Anyways, are you asking for a portion of the book, or what the book itself is? Well either way, here's the book, though I have a feeling I'm going to get buttfucked for it... Living amongst the Dead by J N Morgan.

I'm already aware of my faults, anon, so please be gentle... also, the cover is in the process of being changed. Right now it's just a black background with red text since I didn't really know what I was doing, but having since tinkered with the cover creator, it's going to be changed to pic related.

God damn it this doesn't feel right...
