How come every time the OP asks for recommendations of books, /lit/ can never provide them with a proper list and instead we offer life advice in the format of lenghty platitudes? I started paying attention in this a while ago and it's a pattern that repeats itself in nearly every recommendation thread.

Are we really just a board of people who, in average, do not read but think they're brilliant writers and thinkers?

What is morally impermissible about corporations making billions? Marxism just sounds like resentment and jealousy.

You're all so well-read here, I figured you'd all be aware of the necessity of a central apparatus.

OP, you're the typical case of someone who thinks more than the average person does about certain subjects (politics, ideology, etc) but you have no formal knowledge or technical understanding of it so your imagination instead of growing with a increasing understanding of the subject, just wanders around, rethinking and recycling the few paradigms you're accustomed with and making very little progress in general for your hability to think and the growth of ideas inside you.

Ideally, when you got to the stage of picturing yourself as a hero of the working class or whatever you should have read the theories and literature aimed at people like you and evolved with them towards a further stage or a different position. Instead of smarter than before, you're just bored. You'll soon become bored with being the "whatever man, humanity is fucked" dude and you'll fall back to another established set of rules that you'll by then think of as fresh.

You have to break the cycle by resisting indifference and following stubbornly a chosen path. Tank your way through the forest of hopelessness, of ennui, of pseudo-realism and arrive to a conclusion that you can actually live by. Your position of "enlightened indifference" is hardly any better than mundane indifference, even if it's an understandable reaction to our current circumstances.

TL;DR you're stupid
