What does /lit/ think of pic related? What about HST in general? Anything else of his that's worth reading?

This is my first Thompson novel, but l haven't finished it yet, so l'm not sure what to think of it. It's definitely a good read, but his alcohol and drug-induced stupors can be a bit hard to follow sometimes.

Also, are there any other books that give a behind-the-scenes look into political campaigns? I've heard good things about Game Change, but l don't know if it's in the same vein as Fear and Loathing.

Yeah, I know I know. But I seriously love this book a lot, in part for how he tears apart Nixon and just generally doesn't give a fuck.
