I was merely commenting on your argument, not making one myself.

Max Havelaar was very influential of course, and a good book, but nothing special about anything in the text, just the implications/meaning.

The Discovery of Heaven is a long and dwindling novel, with too much sex and pseudo philosophical ramblings. It went nowhere and the author himself didn't even like it. He said something along the lines of
>Well if popularity was really any measure, wouldn't Twilight be the best book in the world?
replying to the question if The Discovery of Heaven was his masterpiece, looking at its popularit.

Read some WFH.
