is this english translated version sufficient to read as pessoa intended? if not, i'll buy my native translated one which is way more expensive

If you think this book is sad or depressing, you didn't get it. It's meant to be a liberating and rejuvenating experience.

Also if you read it in English you missed out on at least half of the beauty of the book, which stems from Fernando's masterful handling of the Portuguese language.
