Post your face when you realized Big Brother did nothing wrong.

I've been doing some thinking. Isn't 1984 a reference to theocracy? I mean we never see Big Brother, except for that one picture of him, and we never hear him speak, yet the party insists that he's very real. Big Brother himself is said to always be watching, and the penalty for apostasy or even thinking about apostasy is either death, or torture + rehabilitation until we're screaming about how much we love Big Brother. The party promotes ignorance and despises free-thought, and even goes as far as to creating a newer, more controlled language in order to dumb-down their citizens. This is starting to sound way too familiar. Big Brother is God. Or at least, the god the party created in order to illicit fear and order upon the citizens of Oceania. 1984 is basically what happens when theocratic government based on a religion that limits freedom of thought conquers a significant portion of the Earth.

tl;dr Big Brother is Allah, and Oceania is the hypothetical Islam-ruled portion of Earth.
