Montaigne's Essais. And is it really even close either? Is there any other work that teaches you so holistically, in such a patrician manner (incessantly citing ancient parables, the Greeks, the Romans, every notable thinker and event) on how to conduct yourself in the world? And a lot of the time he doesn't even give a singular answer to an issue, he will load you with historical examples for and against an issue, give his humble opinion, and leave it for you to decide.
