What are some books discussing how semantics affect our view of the world? Can words that once meant something still hold powerful connotations if their meaning changes drastically?

What would you consider the current culture of the west to be? I would say it is an odd combination of leftist egalitarianism and consumerism. Egalitarianism does often seem to aid the corporate elites in increasing their wealth, so perhaps it is just pure consumerism, that has fostered left wing tendencies to benefit from it?

There are basically three schools of thought
A) Gender is a social construct
Different cultures have different definitions of how a male or female should behave, though sex cannot currently be changed, an individual with who feels they are another gender are in fact that gender [those who argue that gender and sex are synonymous are being purposely obtuse since gender is not share aesthetics across cultures by necessity]
B)Utilitarian
Transgender people are delusional but the surgery allows them to live a better life without hurting anyone. It's their bodies, and even though I think changing gender is bullshit it's really not my business anyways. [Life and let live, though a subgroup of these people try to virtue signal about 'trans rights' without believing in the idea of 'trans', the justify it by saying it doesn't matter what they really believe.]
C) Transsexuals are degenerate and I must stop them
These people fap to traps and feel bad about it, afterwards they oppose SRS claiming they're looking out for the best interests of those opting for the surgeries. Really they're just trying to preserve a spook and enjoy being angry at things

All the people I've met irl who believe C are either evangelical Christians or have fapped to furry gay porn so I have a hard time respecting that position
