I have trouble getting the "movie in my head" when reading. This makes reading less interesting, but it makes reading plays incredibly tedious. Any advice on how to stop this problem?

Weed got me into reading. I never tried it until I was 23, but also read maybe 10 books in my life at that point. I went through a brief stoner phase during where I engaged in cliche stoner philosophy, had profound thoughts (I thought) and trying to pursue them eventually led to me reading actual philosophy and literature

what are some books that deal with characters with negative affectivity changing their worldview?

are there any writers that were happy and lived healthy fulfilling lives? a lot of the great writers seem like they were complete losers IRL. is this inherent in being reflective all the time and focusing on the hard-to-communicate mysteries of being human? also what separates a writer from an intelligent capable person that doesn't feel the need to write?

Thoughts on cannabis?

I find it incredibly useful for idea generation and for assessing what I've written. For reading a very light buzz greatly elevates immersion. But I find writing while stoned inefficient.
