It's a different philosophy of translation, which is always going to make someone mad. I prefer the older one but even the most respected of translators will tell you it's a good idea to retranslate works every 50 years or so to make them easier to read for modern audiences. Otherwise everything starts reading like the JKV bible

I want to woo people with theology, but I'm a midwit and the book of Job goes over my head. Is God's answer at the end just:
>The fuck would you know?
and if so, isn't that just seething? Don't humans have the capability to tell right from wrong after the original sin? Does this somehow relate to Kierkegaard's teleological suspension of the ethical (Abraham isn't ethically justified in killing Isaac, but God demands it; Job has moral grounds to be upset, but God demands that he suffer)?

when people say they would like a ''smart, intelligent'' partner, what do they mean exactly?
does everyone mistake being clever for being cultured?

I think /lit/ is the most volcel (being the only real form of celibacy) rather than incel.

I really enjoyed both American Psycho and a Clockwork Orange, particularly the psychotic narrators and violent themes, so what do I read now?

Kierkegaard of course. He's the only existentialist who, to my knowledge, lived as he preached
