It's because the media constantly parrots the idea that all high school teachers are underpaid and teach in difficult 'urban' high schools. The truth is a lot more complicated and varies dramatically by region. In well-to-do suburbs you can clear 80k in a few years teaching highly motivated and well behaved whites and asians while getting a ridiculous amount of vacation time. It's what my brother does. He makes almost as much as I do as engineer, but works far fewer hours per week and travels regularly.

The only real critique of Peterson's work the left can throw up is that he attempts to make 'philosophy' accessible to the layman. As if that is some great crime lol. The left is so lost it's comical.

What ought to be cannot be deduced from what is. Reason cannot provide values.

I don't know where to go from here. Everything just seems so arbitrary. Like, why? Why continue, why put up with this shit? Why do I keep waking up everyday? I've become a nihilist par excellence, but you know what, it seems so reasonable: I don't know how to lie to myself. I cant keep doing it, I cant live like this. But what do you do?
