Been following this chart starting with The Teaching of Buddha by BDK. A lot of the content is fascinating and thought provoking but some of it just doesn't make sense. It's like be good but also good and evil and all concepts aren't real and if you think they are real you are delusional and gonna suffer. Ok bro whatever you say.

But you should really read Ashvagosha's Awakening of Faith in the Mahyana. Its not a sutra but has been accepted for more than 1000 years as a short concise and complete text on Mahayana philosophy.

Ideally you would need to find a teacher but those are usually all frauds and ideologues that want your money. Especially online. Since you likely won't be able to find a real teacher this awesome "Introduction to Sitting Meditation by Taigen Shodo Harada Roshi" should give you the best possible start. Whatever Buddhist philosophical tradition you want to study the basic sitting practice is always the same and all skills are transferable:
