Many months ago I saw a thread here discussing fantasy before Tolkien and one anon talked about a really good English writer from, I think, the early XIX century. This writer was a Christian universalist (person who believes everyone will be saved), but he kept his faith out of his books and one of it was about a fairy and really dark. The author appeared in a profile photo with a goatee.
Can anyone help me find this author? That is all I remember and I lost the archive when my computer burned.
