I don't know what to tell you then. I guess you won't mind reading these spoilers then.
Shallan loses herself in her own lies, becoming an amalgam of personalities, losing a grip on herself. She's so far gone, that she wanders the alleys as a nude shapeshifting creature. She's also forced to address her arrogance at thinking she could pretend to be others without their experience. As her actions led to the torture and killing of innocents when she unintentionally caught the attention of a gang.

Dalinar finally regains his memories, remembering that he's every bit of the monster people think he is. He committed such crimes that he can't forgive himself. Destroying a whole city, men women children and all. Getting his own wife killed in the process. And yet, the Stormfather lacking the ability to empathize with humans still thought of those events as a worthy thing, because Dalinar kept his oaths.

Kaladin finally comes to a point where we can't maintain the "us versus them" facade anymore, and completely botches the infiltration mission. Unable to choose a side, he watches as everyone he wants to protect die on both sides, including King Elhokar. Elhokar, who was finally done in by Moash's spear.

And finally where I left off: The gang get trapped in Shadesmar. Finally bringing Kaladin into this space. And I suspect that the upcoming chapters will be them exploring more of this world than I've seen before. Adolin finally gets to see the higher Spren. And he's making a connection with his sword spren. So I speculate that he'll find a way to either revive her or at least bond the broken spren, so she doesn't hurt anymore. Something that not even the Stormfather thought possible.
