I guess about 2000? Here are my shelves from about four years ago, which doesn't include most of my wife's philosophy collection, and I've personally added at least another hundred since then.

I've really tried to slow down my purchasing, but the damage is done.

How did you like the Charles Yu book? Personally, I loved it--I found it really touching, funny, and I guess depressing as all hell. The metafictional aspects were fun, too, but it's been a long time since I read Barth, Barthelme, Calvino, etc., so I have a good sense of whether Yu's were particularly well done or not.

This is pretty much my "method". But despite having many hundreds of books, for 99% of them I can go right to the book's location when I need to. I don't know why I do it, but every few days I'll just spend a few minutes "reviewing" the spines, sort of refreshing my memory of what I've read and what I intend to read--and in the meantime I've pretty much memorized the location of everything I have.

Well, this thread got off to a poor start. First OP posts someone else's shelf, then we get a shelf mostly full of manga and /v/.

Maybe it'd be best if we only had these threads every few days, instead of constantly, like /g/ dasktrop thrads?
