Overall I enjoyed it, but did anyone else have trouble interpretating the tone of some of the situations?

Plus, everyone kind of sounds the same. They all speak really intelligently and come up with really acute lines of conversation in normal conversation. We're a medieval people able to speak so acutely and so wise like it's nothing?

Also, a lot of time it sounded like characters all sounded mean to each other or were always one upping each other in wit.

What am I in for, /sffg/? I don't read much fantasy, but someone told me these books were worth it.
