Is it my impression or do most of the books of the second half of the twentieth century, and of the twenty-first century, have an extremely lean and minimal type of prose, in which a few lines are used to represent scenarios, thoughts and situations? Honestly I do not see any appeal, I have had yet another confirmation reading "La strada" by Mccarthy, a very interesting book, in which prose works for its context, but not in all cases it is so imho. Pic related is the main exponent of the kind of style I prefer.
