The OT isn't even in chronological order. The book of Job predates most of the other books.

The whole point of the OT is to show how God led and revealed himself to a chosen people, the Jews, and the prophecies they made; and how these people later became Christians when those prophesies were fulfilled. Much of the language is allegorical and only hard-line Protestants take it 100% literally. We are called to believe that the old testament is divinely inspired, NOT laser - accurate*. People like you make Christians look foolish. Christianity and science should complement each other, science being the investigation of God's creation.

*although its interested that the Protestants who insist on sola scriptural forget the fact that Luther removed books from the Bible that contradicted his personal beliefs. Hmm.

Other anon made a thread asking whether Von Hildebrand was good for learning about/converting to Catholicism. I know a little about the subject so wrote out my OP listing books that were instrumental in my own conversion and explaining that Hildebrand is best for his writings on aesthetics.
