I'm afraid to read, I'm afraid I read some manipulative propaganda that will make me useful idiot for someone smarter than me.

I'm not smart enough to tell when I'm reading smart stuff and when I'm not. I can hold up to two (maybe if I'm hyperperforming three) concepts simultaneously in my head and this signals I have very low IQ.

It's hard to be stupid and want to read books and to dodge becoming useful idiot..

So /lit/ how do you vet your books before you start reading them?
