Zosima’s preaching unironically turned me to God. Is that what Dostoyevsky intended?

Is this whole book centered around Christianity? I'm at the chapter 5 and it's boring me to death. It's just some old dudes discussing religion.

Im currently readinv brothers kamarazov, Regardless of it being christian, a religion of which i don't have any affiliations with, Is so compelling, Im so embedded into it that im starting to incorporate winding syntax into regular conversations on 4ch. Brothers Kamarazov is yet dostoesvky's only work that i've read, Definitely going to read crime and punishment next. So i'll inqiure, Is the writing style of crime and punishment similar to BK?

Do you feel that translations can truly capture the "feel" of the original text?
I'm always paranoid that by reading translations, I am missing something, that I have only half-assed it. I'm reading pic related, but it feels inadequate. It really sucks too because I dont think I have the time to learn Russian; I've been studying German for 3 years and I'm still at a child's level, I'm too brainlet to learn languages quickly.

Input from those who have read literature in their native tongue and its translations are especially welcome ofc
