I know this isn't /lit/ related, but you guys have been like a family to me, and I need someone to talk to. Sage if you want, I really just need to vent.

Now, I'm no hard-luck case. I had a great childhood. My parents were the kindest people I've ever known. I never wanted for a thing as a kid, and when my aunt and uncle died in a car crash, they took in my cousin instead of dropping him off at the nearest orphanage. I mean, we weren't exactly poor, but there was no way they could afford another kid.
Not only that, but for my entire childhood, this little faggot acts like he's entitled to something, just because his parents kicked it when he was too young to remember. Instead of being grateful for everything they gave him, he was constantly bitching, as if hand-me-down clothes and the occasional chore were some sort of child abuse when without them, he'd have been in some god-awful foster home with a drunk or a pedophile.
He never stopped giving me trouble, either. I remember on my 11th birthday, I went to the zoo with some friends, and he just HAS to come along. Of course he spent the whole time moping about how horrible his life was and bringing everyone else down, so I went over to him and try to cheer him up, just to see if I could salvage the occasion and do you know what he did? He got all angry and self-righteous, and then he pushes me into a snake pit. A fucking snake pit! Anyone else would have had him arrested, but of course my parents just take him home and give him a grounding and a stern talking-to, and after all that, he has the unmitigated gall to act like he's a victim.

Fuck you; yes it does. That's like saying "terrific" doesn't mean "amazing". It does, and it also means "frightful" or "inspiring terror."

And while we're on the subject, I would like it if everyone would stop bitching about the evolution of the language. Unless you speak the Indo-European protolanguage, you've really no basis for being prescriptivist on the grounds that your way of speaking was there first.
