Can we have a thread about this book? I just finished it today.

Thought the ending was a bit of an asspull, and a bit sudden (as in everything just ends as they walk out). No explanation on the leatherheads. So basically the Dome was just an ALEUM EXPURIMANT. I guess King is still all about the journey and nothing about the ending. I still liked the book though, so blah :\

Have you read Stephen King's ''Under the Dome'' yet? If not, read it now. It was one of the best books I have ever read, even though the ending was a bit weird

I just finished this book

I enjoyed it very much. It reminded me of The Stand, very similar in its scope and multitude of characters

Pulpy page-turning goodness.

SPOILERS:

King is losing his dramatic edge and that book proves it.

It was excellent until the end. Elementary-level moral-of-the-story made me sick, considering I stayed up 9 extra hours to finish the second half. I can't even count how many times saturday morning cartoons went a little deeper with the idea that you might be the ant someday, so be nice.

Really?

Also, killing random characters in the story's resolution is SO old. The only emotional response he gets out of me when he pulls that junk is hesitation to get his next book. Why write an entire brilliant novel only to be told at the end:

"Oh yea, they died."

Come on man.

Just finished this, anyone else read it?

I'll say that overall it was great, that crazy church bitch Mrs. Carmadie (The Mist) has nothing on Big Jim Rennie. I was expecting The Stand, but instead got a copped out ending with Alien kids and some cheap ants and a magnifying glass moral

Great until then though. Oh yea, one more thing.
