This is going to sound kind of reddity, so I apologize in advance and have already said my Hail Mary's.

Took my grandparents to the IMAX theatre in the months before grandpa died: construction of the Hubble Space telescope. About an hour of history and the story of repairing it, the last fifteen minutes were 3d recreations of some famous shots it too. Horsehead Nebula and the like. Just the idea of something so incomprehensibly large, precisely ordered and above all, gorgeous, made me feel small in a way that I hadn't felt before. I had been having doubts about Yahweh or whatever and that movie sealed the deal. I try to see the stars any opportunity I get now (I live in the city) and try to recapture that sublime feeling. I don't believe in the abrahamic God anymore, but I know that there is a greater intelligence behind creation and that has brought me so much comfort

I believe in God much more than I ever did when I was a practicing Christian. All of the mythology is like child's clothes I've outgrown. I've seen barely a glimpse of the face of God and I know now that there is nothing to be afraid of, the plan for our reality is more beautiful than you can ever imagine. All our suffering will be worth it in the end

Every time...
Once you begin looking you can see it. No wonder they do not want you to look! But that genie is out of the bottle, the cattle are aware!

Most people today have never actually seen the stars in their true, natural glory. This is probably why materialism is the reigning world view of the day

The point of life is to be one of the infinite perspectives through which God relearns about itself and to be the part of the universe that observes the recongealing of God. Everything is one, and one is everything. We are simply the infitesimal part of the Divine Logos responsible for enacting God's self awareness

It's more channeling personal narcissism into group narcissism in my experience; all of the same pathologies are there, just directed at the outgroup instead of family and friends. The one pastor I know literally has NPD. He will talk for 12 hours straight about his past traumas in front of the congregation and won't tolerate anyone interrupting him and lambasts anyone who tries to leave the meeting. They are all narcs who use love as a means to emotional control

Pandeism too. God becomes the universe, and then rebecomes God in an infinite cycle of self discovery and self forgetting

Just something that makes you feel wonder, like the first time you ever watched Carl Sagan's Cosmos. A book that has to do with the very nature of existence and it's ends. Something that makes you feel tiny and insignificant
