We're approaching Q2 of 2019 now, how's your reading goals coming along?

I've read 17 of the 30 books I set as a goal so far, but things might slow down soon when summer starts.

I just finished watching the film version of Lolita. The story has affected me unlike anything I've encountered in years. After finishing the film I sat for a few minutes contemplating the matter and then I went to look at reviews for the novel. "PEDOPHILIA" is the only thing I can find. What the fuck? I cannot understand the shock of Lolita and Humbert having an intimate relationship at their respective ages. At 14 is a female not ready for breeding? And the story is set in 1921, a time I would have assumed marriages took place with young girls regularly. Que? Was Nabokov a soiboi or is the pedophile interpretion simply a consequence of soiboi fans?
