Good posts. I agree. Most recent lie I read about was the shut down of psychiatric hospitals was from complete bullshit research. Took them a few decades to realize it was bullshit, not without massive social consequences (that the left rarely own up to). Combined with the fact that universities do whatever the big foundations and government tells them, you just cannot trust them. There is also the issue that academics and academia is seen as high status among the left. So criticizing the institution is seen as attacking something sacred.
