Most followers of Christianity would be considered heretics from the context of the time in which the bible was written. Why would God answer the prayers of someone like that?

Any works on this matter? Mostly focused on the umbrella effect rather and how it is a universal occurrence than the study of how right it is in each scenario.
I actually regard that it "feels" like the right decision path most of the time not because it gives you a proper analytical assess of the situation, but because even if you make a less optimal decision, this is what your subconscious wanted all along.
