Alrighty, then.

How about "The Giver" for babby's first Huxlian dystopia.

I'm about halfway through reading "The Way of Shadows" by Brent Weeks, and I must say, this books sucks. The characters are unbelievable, the situations poorly constructed, and the lore poorly explained.

Do you seriously expect me to believe that the same person is a prostitute, bartender, manages all the brothels in the city, and has time to teach the main character to read? Bullshit.

There is no action in the first 200 pages, only us skipping around the main character going from 11 to 20 years old.

We're presented with statements which require background knowledge of the lore and mythos, with not explanation to go with them.

Every single character, the main included, is flat, static, and lifeless. Except for one, but he is insane. Not even good insane, more of an "oh, this guy is crazy, by the way" sort of insane.

I'm going to remove this book from the recommended reading from the wikia.
