Every time I read this I feel a great sadness that is a short story. I need more silicon driven sci-fi horror on my shelf, /lit/.

Hey, /lit/ I need help getting back into reading. I'm looking for a smaller book (Less than 300 pages preferably) because I want to dip my feet in the water before I jump in, you know? I haven't read a long book in a while so I just want something smaller.

Any recomendations? Any kind of book would do really, but I prefer science fiction books but I'm also looking to get into other genres as well so anything would do.

Pictured is the last book I read a couple months back. Very short but I really liked it.

How does /lit/ feel about Harlan Ellison.

I know he's no master of prose, but I dig him. Good to read when you're burnt out on the classy stuff.

Holy fuck, I just read this and I can't believe it but it's definetly one of the best things I've ever read. I though t I hated science fiction, but I want some more. Aliens, AI, Androids, come on and give it to me so long as it's good.

Any love for Harlan Ellison on /lit/. For all the threads I see about cyberpunk/fantasy/sci-fi, I can't say that I've seen this story referenced once. What do you guys think?

Seems like it's worth a read.

Why has a film never been made out of this? It was a fantastic short story. I don't actually think the video game gave it the justice it deserved.
