Big relief

I read War and Peace and it took me three months to finish. After reading a few pages of Les Miserables, I estimate that it will take me about two months to read.
Like everyone else on earth, I am operating on a budget when it comes to time. Is it worth it to spend so much time on this when I could easily read 5 to 10 normal length books in the same period?
How do you guys get past time anxiety? Am I the only one who thinks about this? I’m going to die some day and I want to make sure I’ve done everything as efficiently as possible.

I need to write a 6 volume investigative thesis on the declining retail industry. My teacher said I'd get extra marks if the prose was fire but I dont know much about literature so all ive done so far is a table of contents satirizing proust. Am I fucked /lit/?
