Sorry, but busy with starting the wizarding renaissance. Working on outlining book one of my Pentalogy.

I am tired of the modern bright and shiny wizards. I want old-school wizards, the dark and evil kind.

I want to write a story set in a world I have been dreaming about. I have been inspired by doom metal and the folk tales that I grew up on. I want to combine psychedelic elements, old-school evil wizards that are less human and more demon, a massive bog, the neolithic age, pre-historic satanism, cults, ecology, and how one young man and his neanderthal buddy belonging to the last tribe of his kind thwarted mother natures last attempt at ridding its planet of the plague that is Man.

Once it's done, I am going to self-publish it under a pseudonym and call my writing career done. I have outlined the first 8 chapters of the first book.

Planning on writing a psychedelic doom metal fantasy book series, so I recommend that in the future. It might be shit though since I have no actual writing experience.

From the fantasy material I have read so far, I am not a fan of how wizards are depicted. They are too bright, too kind, and too close to humans. They are too modern. I want to write about the older, more traditional, and scarier form of wizards. Being a wizard makes you far more powerful than anyone else, especially in a pre-historic setting. Power corrupts, therefore wizards are generally evil and sick fucks. All wizards should be feared, and no wizard is good, just less evil. The story I want to tell is also heavily inspired by themes presented in the Psychedelic Doom Metal genre. Just like Doom Metal, I want to invoke a sense of despair, dread, and impending doom.

It feels natural to me that there is going to be a conflict between my protagonist and a wizard. But literally everything I come up with is pretty cliched and just ends up being a copy of LOTR and Saruman/Sauron or Harry Potter vs Voldemort.
