I'm glad I progressed from a trad to a libertine, this thread is one of the most serene pleasures- I actually feel pity for those born before they could spend their prime on 4chan.

Currently on page 39 of The Ego and His Own and I have no idea what the fuck he's talking about. Reading this feels like listening to an Earl Sweatshirt song high on acid. Each sentence makes sense leading into the next, but every section just leaves me with a vague feeling of what he's talking about with nothing concrete to latch on to. At no point have I been able to say "that doesn't make sense" but I haven't been able to honestly make sense of it either.

How many times am I going to have to re-read this? Am I a brainlet? Is this what reading philosophy is supposed to be like? I feel like a toddler listening to my dad explain something complicated, just nodding my head going "uh huh" every now and again while scanning for keywords to use like landmarks to assist my navigating of a landscape of horseshit that seems to constantly shift under my feet.

I'm struggling to figure out why any of you give a shit about this.

Why shouldn't I study Law, The job pays well and is something I would take interest in.
