What's the last book you read that pushed your thinking or overall sensibilites into a completely new direction?

I'm skeptical of the idea that market economy and private property can ever be fully surpassed, but I dislike inequality. What financial, political and cultural mechanisms can we use to ensure some degree of egalitarianism within an inherently unequal and unjust economic structure?

Kids and young adults should be forced to work with the homeless, drug addicts, the very poor, the mentally ill or the elderly for a period of time before they're allowed to graduate.

Inaction is not morally wrong.
