i prefer books with footnotes. don't you read to learn, doesn't everyone? aren't you open to information and knowing things and getting contexts, terms, references, allusions explained?

Also, Shakespeare fun with an amazing grasp on the themes of Hamlet, "Rozencrantz and Guildenstern" Are Dead is a great film.

The 20th century was full of amazing Shakespearean actors as well. Tim Curry, for example.
The BBC as well as many great actor/writer/directors also put on amazing Shakespeare films which are quite pure artworks.
Olivier and Branagh and Mel Gibson (my personal favorite Hamlet) all brought life to the plays all over again on film.
