I quite enjoyed it. It's the only work of his I've read, Never Let Me Go is on the shelf.
I found it read very easily, almost too simply. I chalked that up to the narrator, I think it's a stylistic choice to really sink you into her naive perspective. I had a sense of dread while reading, pondering all of the dark turns the story could take, but in the end I was mostly left with melancholy and loneliness.

Just finished pic related, really liked it.

Do you think that what makes human individuals unique is not something like a heart or a soul, and Instead what makes one unique or human is the love that others feel for the person in question? Does that mean that whoever is not loved is not truly human?

Also, do you think Ishiguro was trying to portray technology such as artificial intelligence as an extension of humanity rather than something unnatural and separate from humans?
