What are some words you think there aren't enough synonyms for? I think there need to be more words for saying look. Look, stare, gaze, watch, eye, peer, regard... there's really not enough. Meanwhile it seems like there's dozens of good alternatives for obscure or stupid words.

I am. Trying to fix it, but not afraid of saying it in the mean time. Of course, man can learn a lot of things and still be dumb in twice as many subjects. If man could learn everything, we'd either be a race of superhumans or it'd be a very stupid society to begin with.

Link is to what I have in my library so far. I try mostly for classics as I have not read them and always felt like I was missing something huge in my literary education. However, I fear that either I am missing some or I am too lopsided in my reading. I also intend to pass this library down to my own kids, so they do not follow in my footsteps of missing staples. I never really cared for those trashy teen fic whatevers, romance novels are for wine aunts with twisted views on love, and political thrillers don't do it for me. What would you /lit/izens recommend, either to fill in gaps or would be good complementary works.
(The list is not all that I've read, just what I currently have on my shelf)

I'm slowly chipping away at it. I don't speed read and working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment doesn't really leave much room for pleasure reading.
