that adverb's doing quite a lot of work in this sentence. feed the AI Dubliners and say "write another book like this," it'll spit out a book of realist stories. but it won't anticipate Portrait, and if you feed it both of those, it won't give you Ulysses, and if you give it all three of those, it still wouldn't give you the Wake. right now, AI is just clever linear algebra and statistics wrapped in some silicon valley salesmanship and drizzled with scifi fearmongering. it's cool, don't get me wrong, but it will never make new art.
