assumption: matter behaves in a set manner that does not change(physical laws are humans understanding of this set manner)
Your brain is matter, and your brain creates your consciousness
Free will cannot be free because every atom behaves in a set pattern, set does not imply a setter, and therefore is not able to change freely apart from the way it would have been by interaction of matter and energy.
Will, the faculty of conscious and especially of deliberate action; the power of control the mind has over its own actions, is possible and obvious and which is what most people think of when they say free will but they add on the word free for no reason other than lack of thought.
Determinism includes a conscious will but does not include a magic will that is restrained by nothing and yet still able to lead somewhere, if it is led by the brain it is deterministic and therefore not free, if will is not lead by the brain it is unguidable and unwatchable.
put simply: if it is free it is not a will, if it is a will it is not free
