I just read an article about how the Confederate monument on Stone Mountain is being topped by a martin luther king statue. ISIS are blowing up religious sites and world heritage sites across the levant, and we are less than 20 years from the destruction of the Buddhas of Bamiyan.

Dont be so quick to discount the power of religion or the fact that certain groups see the destruction of culture as very very useful.
