It's been pretty enjoyable so far. Just starting to re-read The Call of Cthulu since it's the next story after Cool Air.

Which writers (or artists in general) lived a life of genuine poverty, rejection, humiliation etc?

I find some bitter satisfaction in learning that a writer was in a similar situation to my own. Pic related is an example: often unemployed, poor, home-bound.
