Are genre short stories and novels going to die? I keep finding these high concept fantasy/sci-fi series everywhere but in the written form, and they receive more praise and attention than anything any writer has achieved since fucking JK Rowling or some young adult meme author.

Is there a point to producing these works anymore when so few people read? What are we creating for?
