Nobody's really taken marx at face value for decades and orthodox Marxists haven't existed in any meaningful way in academia for nearly 40 years.

Of course marx has influenced post structuralist and other bullshit in the ivory towers (Foucault, lacan, althusser, zizek etc who disembowel mark to the point of lunacy).......but marx is generally used as a boogeyman by /pol/tards etc....he's a non entity....a historical point of interest in the history of human thought.
